Chicago ‘solves’ murders in which no arrest is made

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has been trumpeting his police department’s homicide clearance rate of nearly 54%, the highest level in recent years. But a deeper dive into the data shows only a fraction of those "solved" murder cases have resulted in an actual arrest or charges, WGN Investigates has found.
